Is the redacted text really removed?

Yes. Pages with redactions are rebuilt without the underlying text, so the redacted content cannot be copied, searched, or recovered from the exported PDF. It is removed, not hidden under a black box.

Yes. Scanned and image-only pages are read with OCR that also runs on your device, then redacted the same way.

What does PDFRedax cost?

A one-page document is free. Longer jobs are a one-time charge by total pages: up to 10 pages is $5, up to 25 pages is $10, up to 100 pages is $30. There is no subscription and no account.
